Who’s afraid of the Karachi Literature Festival?

Here we are seemingly in an age of intellectual freedom, burgeoning media industry and literature festivals. There are numerous festivals held all over South Asia celebrating books new and old, bringing people together for exchange of ideas. But these festivals seem to be wrapped in their own politics.

India-Pak: Averting peace in the nick of time, yet again – Issue 6 Volume 10

A FORTNIGHT ago, we were concerned about averting escalation of tension between India and Pakistan without realising that it was actually peace between the two neighbours that got averted. Now the question is when will we be able to get the peace process back on track since it has now been comfortably derailed?
